When the Commander, WBro Cliff Boynton had opened the lodge there was a short In Memoriam for Bro Alan Mawdsley.  Once the day to day business was out of the way the Worshipful Commander asked WBro John Mawdsley, to occupy the Senior Wardens Chair and WBro Ian Kennedy to occupy the Junior Wardens Chair. WBro William Cropper remained at the door.  It was now the turn of the DC, WBro David Rawcliffe, PrRAMGR present the Commander Elect, Bro Ivan Hicks to the Worshipful Commander for the purpose of Installation.  During the questions a dispensation was read out so that Bro Hicks could take the chair.  It was then time for all those below the rank of an installed commander to leave.  WBro Boynton then placed Bro Hicks in the chair in a fine and fluent fashion.

The lower ranks were then readmitted and greeted the new Worshipful Commander.  WBro Fred Hargreaves, RAMGR, presented to Keystone Jewel to the Worshipful Commander, with WBro John Rawcliffe, PrRAMGR doing the address to the Worshipful Commander.  It was now time for WBro Derek Horrocks to present the Exposition, which he did in fine style.  Derek also gave a bit of a background to the exposition, once he had delivered it, which helped to make it more interesting.
With the ceremony over it was time for WBro Derek Horrocks to bring the congratulations of the Provincial Grand Master to the Worshipful Commander WBro Ivan Hicks and WBro Horrocks also congratulated WBro Boynton on behalf of the PGM on a fine installation ceremony, which was echoed by all present.  WBro Hicks then presented WBro Horrocks with a cheque for charity, which was gratefully received.  During the risings the Worshipful Commander requested that WBro Maurice Evans, present two Grand Lodge Certificates, (at very short notice), to Bro’s Ed Harrison and Tom Hughes who had been elevated into the degree at the February meeting.  When it was all over it was down stairs for the usual first class meal.
'What some folk will do to be noticed'
During his reply to the toast to Grand Lodge, WBro Horrocks extolled the virtues of the Royal Ark Marine Degree and urged the brethren to encourage members of their Mark lodges who are not members to join the degree.  We wish the Worshipful Commander and his team a happy and busy year.
